Protecting the Rights of Our Brave Firefighters

Aqueous film forming foam or AFFF for short, has been commercially used since the 1970’s. It’s purpose is to suppress a fire involving flammable liquids, by forming a barrier between the air and vapors, effectively suffocating it. Firefighters, (civilian or military), train with this foam and use it in the field when necessary. The negligent manufacturers include some of the world’s largest chemical-producing companies such as DuPont, 3M, Chemours, Tyco, and Chemguard, just to name a few.

What are the Dangers?

AFFF contains toxic chemicals called PFAS, PFOS, and PFOA. Not only are they hazardous to the environment, but they have been strongly linked to certain cancers and conditions. Firefighters who are exposed to these harmful chemicals over time have significantly increased risks. The same may be true for non-fire fighters if they handled and or disposed of it. The more exposure one has to these toxic chemicals, the greater the chance that an illness was caused by this defective product.

Even minimal direct exposure on a semi-regular basis can cause damage! The most highly linked cases include cancers or issues with the bladder, breast, colon, kidney, liver, leukemia, Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, pancreas, prostate, testicles, uterus and/or of the thyroid. The time to make a claim is now as our AFFF firefighting foam attorneys believe that the defendants will settle most of these lawsuits in 2024.

Since there are almost 7,000 actions already filed, you are not alone. Our firm and co-counsel team handles these cases nationally and on a contingency basis. That means there are no attorney’s fees or costs unless there is a settlement or court award. We’ll even try to obtain your medical records. Call our office today for a no-obligation evaluation. Mind you that the litigation is not against your employer but rather versus the companies who created this deadly product. Let us seek justice for you and your family.
