Construction Worker Dies In Bulldozer Accident In Naples, Florida

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office has reported that a man was recently crushed by a bulldozer at EHC, Inc. in Naples. The 21-year-old construction worker was found unconscious under the bulldozer with its tread on his torso. Co-workers jacked up the piece of heavy machinery and pulled the worker out from under it. The man was working under the bulldozer when a jack shifted, and the bulldozer fell on him. An Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspector was dispatched to the scene to investigate the accident.

When an employee is injured or killed in the course and scope of their employment by an anticipated and foreseeable risk of that employment, they’re eligible for benefits under the Florida Workers’ Compensation Law. Florida recognizes that the construction industry involves some of the most dangerous work in the country. All private employers in the construction industry with one or more employees are required to carry workers’ compensation insurance coverage.

Naples Workers Compensation Lawyer Evan Ostfeld has over 20 years of experience, and he focuses his practice on the representation of injured workers. Because workers’ compensation is based on a no-fault foundation, it isn’t required that you prove fault on your employer or a co-employee to be eligible for benefits. Some employers will try to save money though and deny a legitimate claim. Coral Springs workers’ compensation attorney Evan Ostfeld can help. Based on the nature and extent of a worker’s injuries, workers’ compensation benefits can include:

  • Medical care and treatment and any necessary rehabilitation
  • Benefits for temporary disability while you’re unable to work
  • Permanent disability if you’re physically unable to return to work

Whether benefits are denied or not, you’ll still want a knowledgeable, experienced and aggressive Coral Springs workers’ compensation attorney by your side. The law recognizes your right to file your workers’ compensation claim if you’re injured on the job. Don’t fear retaliation by your employer. It’s against the law. Depending on how your accident happened, other people or entities might be held liable for your injuries too.

If you or somebody close to you has suffered an injury on the job, call Florida workers’ compensation attorney Evan Ostfeld right away. You have the right to have a successful Coral Springs workers’ compensation attorney in your corner. Call Evan Ostfeld at 954-227-7529 about your work injury.
