A Florida jury just awarded $22.5 million to an injured U.S. serviceman due to hearing loss for the use of defective 3M earplugs. The Plaintiff was a war hero who fought with great honor and distinction while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom while in Afghanistan. They broke it down as $7.5 million in compensatory damages and a whopping $15 Million in Punitive Damages making a bold statement to punish 3M for their outrageous conduct. We are hopeful that the impact of this decision will increase the pressure on 3M to “do the right thing” to try and settle the other remaining 270,000 or so claims next year. If not, the trials shall continue so more juries can see what 3M did to our soldiers.
If you, a loved one or friend served anytime during 2001 through 2015, and suffered from hearing loss and or tinnitus after using 3M’s combat arms dual-ended earplugs, there may be a claim for significant compensation. To see if you are eligible, contact us today at (866) I SUE YOU (866) 478-3968).
